Rohit Bhagat leads the India business for Life Health Foods. He joined LHFI in July 2014 as Business Head and has been associated with LHFI’s complete business strategy and market development plan for new segment plant-based milk drinks in India. A seasoned marketing and retail professional, he has worked in the FMCG & Retail Trade for over 20 years with experience in Category Management, Sales and Marketing across retail & FMCG corporates like Aditya Birla, Reliance, diverse sector of banking with ICICI (India’s largest private sector bank). Mr. Bhagat’s key areas of expertise are – Business Development, Brand development, Sales and Retail. He has worked on customer focused efficiency driving projects in a bank to designing the brand architecture of a retail private label brand.
Varun Deshpande is the Managing Director at the Good Food Institute India (GFI India), where he is focused on building the future of food by working with scientists, foundations, governments, entrepreneurs, and corporations to advance the plant-based and cultivated protein sector. He has been deeply immersed in healthcare and technology from a very young age, and spent several formative years studying Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at technology hub Carnegie Mellon University. He then went on to work on implementing digital health in India and the United States, helping vulnerable populations through care coordination, and a systems approach to healthcare. In dedicating his work to the future of protein and combining his duty to human and planetary health, Varun aims to help build a more healthy, sustainable, and just global food system, starting right here in India. Varun has been recognized as a young climate action leader by the India Climate Collaborative, and has written for The Hindu, First Post, and The Daily Guardian, among other media.
Sandeep Singh is the Managing Director for Alkem India and has spearheaded the India business towards the USD 1 billion milestone through successful strategic business decisions. He is also a start-up investor and Co-Founder of BLUE TRIBE FOODS, a plant-based meat company. He has more than 16 years of experience in building global businesses across developed and emerging markets and is a specialist in making international acquisitions. His deep expertise lies in creating robust R&D practices for current therapies and innovative areas like biosimilars.
He has been an early investor in several start-ups such as Bombay Shaving Company, Mompresso, The Better Meat Company (USA), Spero Foods (USA), Impossible Foods among others.
Rahul Jain is the Founding Partner and Sales Head of Drums Foods International. As the COO at Drums Food International Pvt Ltd, parent company of Hokey Pokey ice creams and Epigamia (India's first Greek Yogurt), he has been responsible for national growth of both the brands. He has been associated with the premium FMCG industry at various levels in India for the past 4 years.
He has previously launched a premium brand of organic milk by the name of Doctor Moo Organic Milk in Mumbai. Rahul Jain holds an MBA from Indian School of Business.He has been an early investor in several start-ups such as Bombay Shaving Company, Mompresso, The Better Meat Company (USA), Spero Foods (USA), Impossible Foods among others.
