Our range of science-led services provides essential data to support the optimal use of ingredients and additives in animal feed.

At Danisco Animal Nutrition & Health, we offer services designed to help you make data-driven decisions about feed ingredients and the use of our additives. Our detailed analyses help you assess ingredient quality, apply the most accurate nutritional values for our additives, and improve profitability.

Feed Ingredient Analysis

Phytate Analysis

Phytate is the main storage form of phosphorus in plants and can’t be broken down by monogastrics. It is also a powerful antinutrient that binds key nutrients, making them inaccessible and reducing performance.

Our phytase enzymes use phytate as a substrate. Accurate application is crucial since research has shown that the phytate content of raw materials can vary, especially in by-products.

Our detailed analysis ensures you determine the correct phytate level and the most effective phytase dosage for your operational needs.

Limestone Solubility

The type of limestone used in animal feed affects the digestibility of calcium and phosphorus as well as the magnitude of response from phytase. Limestone can alter the ratio of digestible calcium to digestible phosphorus. Sub-optimal absorption of these nutrients, which support metabolic functions and bone mineralization, can potentially impact animal performance, as well as litter quality.

Our limestone characterization service addresses these concerns by providing you with limestone particle size distribution, calcium solubility ad mineral analysis, and a comparison with a control limestone sample. This information can then be used in our Optimize Feed™ tool to generate matrix values and identify the optimal phytase dose to use.

Corn ME/DE

Rapid grading of corn grain helps you optimize its value in the diet while actively identifying and discouraging the delivery of the sub-standard product.

We have developed a robust in-vitro process to identify genetic variation and evaluate corn energy value at point-of-sale.

Avicheck™

Wheat can vary in terms of fiber content, as well as viscosity and energy values. When used in feed, this can translate to variability in animal performance and the efficacy of xylanase enzymes.

Our Avicheck™ service applied to poultry feed addresses both these issues. By assessing the quality of the wheat, we can use the measured grain characteristics to provide you with customized recommendations for xylanase use - and so maximize profitability.

Enzyme Analysis

An added-value service that we provide to our customers. It provides you with the reassurance that our enzymes are being used at the correct dosage levels to optimize performance and deliver a maximum commercial return.

Animal Feed Optimization: Optimize Feed™

Optimize Feed™ + Axtra® PHY GOLD

For poultry, the mineral matrix is based on 384 datapoints from 12 digestibility studies, while for swine it uses 508 datapoints from 12 digestibility studies.

Our models also take account of factors such as the phytate level of the diet, limestone solubility, inorganic phosphorus costs, starting energy levels, starting amino acid levels, and animal age, to generate matrix values and calculate the optimum dose.

Optimize Feed™ + Enviva® PRO

We have used a 12-study performance meta-analysis based on broiler trials conducted to predict the value that Enviva® PRO can bring to your production system.

Results can be tailored to the size of your poultry operation. Our online tool allows you to generate potential cost savings from the expected improvements in key production parameters including:

  • Feed cost
  • Days to market
  • Liveability
  • Condemnation improvements
