Services

Our range of science-based services provide essential data to support the optimal use of raw materials and additives in animal feed.

At DuPont Animal Nutrition, we offer services designed to help you make data-driven decisions about feed ingredients and the use of our additives. Our detailed analyses help you assess ingredient quality, apply the most accurate nutritional values for our additives, and improve profitability.

How we can help

Raw Material Analysis

phytate-analysis-2.jpg

  • Phytate analysis

Phytate is the main storage form of phosphorous in plants and can’t be broken down by monogastrics. It’s also a powerful anti-nutrient which binds key nutrients; making them inaccessible and reducing performance.

Our phytase enzymes use phytate as a substrate. Accurate application is crucial since research has shown that the phytate content of raw materials can vary, especially in by-products. Our detailed analysis ensures you determine the correct phytate level and the most effective phytase dosage for your operational needs.

linestone-2.jpg

  • Limestone solubility

The type of limestone used in animal feed affects the digestibility of calcium and phosphorous, as well as their phytase contribution. Limestone can also alter the ratio of calcium to phosphorous. Sub-optimal absorption of these nutrients, which support metabolic functions and bone mineralization, can potentially impact animal performance, as well as litter quality.

Our limestone characterization service addresses these concerns by providing you with limestone particle size distribution, calcium solubility and mineral analysis, and a comparison with a control limestone sample.

corn-2.jpg

  • Corn ME/DE

Rapid grading of corn grain helps you to optimize its value in the diet, while also actively identifying and discouraging the delivery of sub-standard product. That’s why we have developed a robust in-vitro process to identify genetic variation and evaluate corn energy value at point-of-sale.

Our highly accurate and independently validated model can report results as AMEn (Apparent Metabolizable Energy nitrogen corrected) for poultry or DE (Digestible Energy) for swine.

Avicheck / Porcheck

Wheat can vary in terms of fiber content, as well as viscosity and energy values. When used in feed, this can translate to variability in terms of animal performance and the efficacy of xylanase enzymes.

Our Avicheck and Porcheck service - applied to poultry or swine feed respectively - addresses both these issues. By assessing the quality of the wheat, we can use the measured grain characteristics to provide you with customized recommendations for xylanase use - and so maximize profitability.

Enzyme analysis

An added-value service that we provide to all our customers as standard. It provides you with the reassurance that our enzymes are being used at the correct dosage levels to optimize performance and deliver maximum commercial return. .

Animal Feed Optimization

Optimize Feed™: Our online tool helps you see the potential benefits of our products in your operation.

Discover the benefits

Optimize Feed™
+ Axtra® PHY / Axtra® PHY GOLD

For poultry, the matrix is based on 296 data points from 10 digestibility studies, while for swine it uses 563 data points from 14 digestibility studies.

Our models also take account of factors such as the phytate level of the diet, inorganic phosphorous costs and animal age, to generate matrix values and calculate the optimum dose.

Our online tool enables you to:

• Maximize phosphorous uptake and reduce the need for costly inorganic phosphorous supplementation.
• Balance calcium and phosphorous levels, which is important for bone mineralization.
• Rapidly reduce the anti-nutritional effects of phytate, to release energy and amino acids.

Optimize Feed™
+ Enviva® PRO

We have used a 12-study performance

meta-analysis based on broiler trials conducted between 2009 and 2013 to predict the value that Enviva® PRO can bring to your production system.

Results can be tailored to the size of your poultry operation. In this way, our online tool allows you to generate potential cost savings from the expected improvements in key production parameters including:

• Feed cost
• Days to market
• Liveability
• Condemnation improvements.
